So they finally admitted they are under a DDos attack which I found to be suspicious b/c normally attacks go on for a few days & then stops once the IPs are blocked.

So I said to them that it sounds personal since it's been going on for a week.

Well when I checked the first time it was down for me, it had been just over 2 weeks, so now it's probably close to 3 weeks.

I relayed a story of a guy (in cyber security no less & this was back in around 1997) who was taken out for 3 weeks until he had to BEG the scrip kiddies to stop by going on the dark net & getting help from someone more powerful than them.

It scared the shit out of me, let me tell you.

Anyway, NF said no it's not personal, everyone is experiencing more DDos attacks.

I know the evils want to create havoc online & blame this on foreign cyber security attacks so they can enslave us even more with MORE of their BS security measures & people welcome this slavery, but they have been talking about these "cyber attacks" since the war started in March 2020, so it seems unlikely to me that they would go after an adult site unless it was intentional & when they talk cyber attacks, I'm talking on a much bigger scale.

It's ALL part of creating fear in people who are ignorant, don't study the Truth & then allow themselves to be enslaved & we pay the price. sigh

I asked my VA to do a search to see if in fact there have been more DDos attacks, & there may be a bit more than last year using ransomware, but I don't trust CloudFlare since I'm pretty sure they are evil owned based on an email I got from them in 2021/22.

Besides that, they attack BIG companies and governments. The closest to our industry that was named was gambling, nothing about adult. So, it still sounds personal to me.

I'm the South East. I'm not sure why you're still not able to access the site after several weeks? Did they ever release an official statement saying they were no longer available for folks outside of the US?

I'm outside the US, though I'm in Canada. The site is still available for me and I haven't seen any signs of it going down for several days now. They have implemented all sorts of new technology to try and combat the attacks and they've been clear that DDOS attacks are the problem since the beginning.

And I'm not sure how you qualify the attacks as "personal" or not, since NF isn't a person. The DDOS attacks are likely being paid for by a competitor (for just a few hundred dollars a day, they can cost NF tens of thousands of dollars), an anti-porn organization seeking to either put NF out of business or simply impair access to the site or they might be coming from a criminal organization trying to demand a ransom from NF.

No matter who is behind them, DDOS attacks are very cheap to run and yet inflict significant damage on a target. There's no way to resist them entirely. NF has been doing all sorts of things since the very beginning. They've blocked traffic from some regions, implemented all sorts of different technology to try and limit bot traffic (DDOS attacks are caused by an overwhelming amount of bot traffic being directed at a site), they've consolidated all their tools with Amazon Web Services and they've posted several updates on the NF forum.

IP addresses aren't magical and people who run botnets and offer DDOS attack services could potentially have infected devices all over the world participating in the attacks, coming from dozens or hundreds or thousands of IPs. Blocking regional traffic only works if all or most of the botnet is located in one part of the world.

It's true that DDOS attacks are on the rise worldwide, but people aren't doing them for fun. They are doing them because someone hired them to inflict an attack on a site. So, yes, someone chose NF and someone is deliberately attacking them. So it's "personal" in the sense that it's likely not completely random. But it probably doesn't represent some personal grudge against some person at NF. NF is a target because a competitor wants them gone, or weakened, an anti-porn organization wants them gone or inaccessible or someone is hoping to get them to pay a ransom.

Official? I don't know, I don't keep track of those things on NF, but they did tell me that yes, they are blocking all traffic outside & they know where I am.

I'm still blocked & it's been over a month. This all started for me on April 20th. DDoSs never last this long, but I guess anyone outside the US doesn't matter as much.

"Personal" has nothing to do with the target being a person. No one attacks a site for that long unless it's personal & I said this after the 2nd week.

We don't know who's behind it, it could have even been a pissed off customer or someone who knows one of the owners assuming there's more than one. It's all just theory other than I already knew it was personal.

Anyway, it's a good thing I never make money from there, I'm just irked that I'm being blocked - STILL.

Over 2 MONTHS AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T BROUGHT IN A PRFESSIONAL TO FIX IT.

I spoke to my website coder & any company that cares would have brought in a professional by now who would have fixed the issue within a few days.
