Any advice for clubs in the Midwest; Indiana, Illinois, Ohio or Kentucky?

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
Hmmm I didn't do to well when I was in Lexington. I didn't have the "accent" and customers could "tell" I wasn't from the south because of it. Ohio is alright. I've only danced in southern Ohio. I've never been to Indiana but if I do, it'll be indianapolis. I've always wanted to work in Chicago, again, never been there.

Bumping...
I'm finally headed off to Miami in a few weeks, this time around I will only be there for a few days so I was wondering who knows if all of Miami is a 'show up & work that night' city. Or will there be schedules and auditions?

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
(have not been in a year)
Bronx Ny:
SinCity: Is a upper class black club I liked it a lot the house fee was high but worth it most of the time. If you know a lot of pole tricks and how to pop ur ass you'll do great. A lot of rappers came here for release partys and clothing lines for their new collection release or whatever u call it.
BadaBing: Most money made off stage and good money at that. the problem is most of the girls are bitches and haters and they fight in the dressing room at least once a week. I would suggest calling a cab company u know or driving because i took a cab and the bastard stole all my dancer clothes and shoes one time.
(Have not been in a year)
Queens NY:
Riviera: Not a Black club per say but on tuesday nights it turns into a poppin ass spot and black and puerto ricans from other clubs come out on tuesday to work here
Cityscape: good dayshift can pull 300 or better easy just be patient. night sometimes is good when a rapper comes or their is a bachelor party
Krystals: really pretty club bikini only if u don't mind walking around crawling around and dancing on a bar ull really like it and there is money to be made
(was here about a yr and a half ago)
Houston Tx:
ONYX: If you get in good with the girls and mind your business you can make good money here they have 1 dressing room split into 2 one part is called the penthouses and the other part is the projects lol
HK: Never went here always heard too many nasty and bad things about this place
(was here 2 yrs ago)
Miami FL:
Boobytrap: I liked this club a lot I made good stage money and the fact that you get to walk around and ask everyone in the club if they would like to tip you for your dance on stage was GREAT lol
Diamonds: Be careful when it comes to the girls but you can make good money on stage if you know how to shake ur ass and pop it and do a couple of tricks. this was a cool club
(I live here now)
Las Vegas:
black clubs in vegas???? Nope! Black girl friendly? yes
Eden: They play whatever songs you want to hear just let the dj know and tip him out well...you can dance however you want to dance and wear whatever you want to wear. customers that come to this club aren't really racist I think because they know they are about to see a lot of black girls and if they didnt want to they could go to paradise or something lmmfao
GlitterGulch: Black women dancing how they want to dance. There are many racist customers but a lot of blacks and mexicans and white guys who like black women come here so you can still do great
Palomino: fully nude & liquor the only spot like that in town! A lot of black girls work here an most do really well. You can also pick any song u want b4 u go on stage
Everywhere else in Vegas if your black and you want to do well make sure u weigh no more then 110. Thats usually just to get through the fucking door. I've been told we've reached our black girl quota a cpl times I've also been told sorry we don't play any This word is not allowed. music and my favorite "your pretty but I don't get dances from colored girls"
If you have tough skin you can do well out here my suggestion is stick to the clubs I've mentioned or make sure ur really skinny and go anywhere u want just prepare for the bullshit
I know I wasn't too detailed on the clubs thats because I just really wanted to name them and get it out of the way but if you have a specific question feel free to pm me
almost forgot
(was here for a week 2 weeks ago)
L.A
Barbary coast: Didn't work here just stayed and looked around for a min. It was too ghetto I would never actually work here. They have a fucking juke box that plays music and after every song there is 30 seconds of silence in the whole club. str8 up corny ass club in my opinion the only hot thing was the girls outfits were all fucking hot I have the number to the chick who makes them and got me a cpl things.

Be careful in MIAMI its pimp land don't make friends with girls and go hanging out and stuff... A lot of chicks have pimps and are set up girls which is not cool at all so just be really careful with that

LOL, well damn, I lived and worked in Miami and never encountered that. Could be because I didn't associate with people at the clubs or because no one wanted my black ass. One or the other. But when I work in the clubs, I don't go in there to be all friendly and shit anyway because I know how some broads operate. And in my experiences, so-called pimps know who to step to and who not to step to. Hence, they didn't step to me. WTF, I look like hustling to give you my damn money?!?!
When you go PV, be on point just as you would be anywhere else.

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
Illinois: Raunchy ass club called Arnies if your thick or even fat. $350-400 tip out! You must hoe up in this club. Hit or miss club called Skybox, mixed crowd, I never saw the black girls make any money per say. Club O, you must be a black barbie.
Indy: Sunset Strip was alright back in the day.
Kentucky: Only worked at that one joint near downtown during the derby. Wasn't worth my time.
Ohio: I worked at some joint in Cleveland and can't remem the name of it either. Didn't care for it.
I loooong for the days of when I used to work at the Gent's in Atl and Nikki's. The good ol' days. Time changes everything. Dang:'(

It's prob just because I'm young and they see I make more money then their hoes with my legs closed lol so they try me...it really pisses me off when they approach me.
Its like their saying "hey stupid bitch" lol like what makes them think I'm dumb enough to go for that shit? I figured out a way to turn pimps into tricks tho easy! Its in another thread I made a while back.

One said it straight out, the other elaborated that they didn't want too many black guys in there anymore so they don't want too many black dancers. That of course is no reason not to try to work there, I knew 2 dancers that do and they are both black.
Sin City has a quota for sure, everytime I been there I have only seen 2 black dancers (hopefully that is not the norm) but if you can get in there it will be worth it. Very pretty club with food and their own club money and dayshift is available. Huge stage, huge mirrors. It would be a great place to perform if you are a stage type. All sizes, super skinny to voluptuous (not fat, the sexy thick).
The Player's Club renovated and reopened last year. I don't know how it was prior, but it's pretty cool. Big stage- 3 poles plus 2 smaller ones and VIP area. Has a dayshift. I can't confirm or deny extras happening here (since that is the rallying cry from those who detest the Bronx clubs), if it does it's pretty hidden. The only club with a lesbian night, which I love in theory but wouldn't work since I'd be fired. I know someone who will be working there soon, so I will update when I get the info.
The only other 2 non dives in the BX are Crazy Horse and Bada Bing. Don't know much about either, but they have dancers of color.
For the most part, if you are thin, in good shape and have nice costumes you can get hired just about anywhere in NYC. While there are clubs that have more AA women than others--there's no real "club for black women." I know for a fact that most manhattan clubs will hire black women as long as you fit their criteria--they just want the house fees anyway.
Oh as for Crazy horse and Bada Bing,
Crazy horse is being run into the ground by the cokehead/alkie manager (biz is down by 60% since she has been managing). Its slow there right now, but the overall work environment aint bad if you dont get involved with the BS. Its a mixed club with dancers of all races. The clients are very mixed too, not what i would call a "black club." People assume b/c its in the bx thats it ghetto--its not.
Bada Bing--Latina heavy, Latin crowd mostly. Stage money kind of club. Good layout. On weekends, dancers can make excellent stage tips. Not digging the neighborhood though---that place is in the HOOD! (hunts point)

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
In St.Louis which the clubs are on the Illinois side don't go to the black clubs b/c they are dirty. If you are cute, you can bank at Penthouse or Pt's. Those are the only two i would recommend. The guy who owns Hollywood and Crystal Palace is extremely rascist so avoid them. The girls I worked w/ that were black at Penthouse and Pt's did well. They were very demanding when they found the right guy and could get a lot of money

i definitely agree with the King´s English and body parts. However, being a dark skinned girl...I´m gonna have to ask you to pump the brakes when it comes to skin color. i worked at PEC in Manhattan (I left, because i do not do extras) and found that beauty is beauty no matter how dark or light you are. I look a bit like Naomi campbell and have a big head of nappy unruly hair that only stays put at work, and I´ve been hired at every place I tried out at with the exception of Hustler in NY. I say that just to let black girls know that it´s imperative to ignore the skin tone issue that people try to heap on you. It all goes back to racist colonial era ideologies designed to make lighter skinned blacks feel superior to their darker counterparts and thus create animosity and complexes. I don´t think the animosity has carried over, because I am very disapointed that this inferiority/superiority complex does. Slavery is OVER, let that BULLSHIT GO!!!!!!!
We all know that all colors are quite nice (butter pecan to dark dark chocolate), and if you got a great body, and a pretty face....your hair texture and skin color have zero to do with your marketability in high class clubs. I am proof...and another black-as-night girl who got hired right after me is as well (the manager and housemom at PEC couldn´t stop raving about what a body she had!).
Whew, I feel better. Sorry to rant and move off topic, but I think it´s relevant as far as boosting the confidence of these beautiful black girls who are constantly told that they don´t look white or latina or whatever enough. I´m black as pitch, and I don´t need to be mixed or biracial to be considered sexy (and i´M NOT saying that these women aren´t sexy...but I dont need to be one of them or try to to make money) To all black girls : Go out and strut that beautiful body of yours, and make that money ...just make sure you put on your lotion, and if you have a pole in your club, Windex it when you´re finished.
To all dancers: don´t ever let anyone tell you that you´re too pasty white, big bootied, skinny, tatted up, pierced or whatever...there is always a club and a clientele for you. They come a dime a dozen, and your have to own your beauty to sell it. So be about it!

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
First of all...
Racism is NOT dead! Many clubs all over the freaking US practice racial tactics in their hiring process. How could you even begin to twist that up?
Many clubs from the dives to the high ends have so called quotas on the amount of ethnic girls they'll even care to hire. It could be 30 white girls working in a club with only 3 black girls and the majority of the black girls have white so-called features. And the sistas that do step in the place hoping to get hired, get the run around.
A darker complexioned sista WILL have a more complicated time finding work than a lighter complexioned one no matter how cute she is. We can certainly take a consensus on this!
Furthermore, not all darker complexioned sistas have "Nappy Unruly" hair. Let's rebuff that notion right now.
So darker sistas should ignore their not being hired at many clubs they seek work at just because of their skin tone?? GTFOH- get the fuck outta here!
Unfortunately, for black entertainers, skin tone does matter at many many places!! So okay, your in NYC. Fine. Then take your pitch black, nappy headed ass (your own descriptive words, mind you) over to some of the clubs in Wyoming, Idaho, Illinois, Oregon, Arizona, Iowa, Tennessee and other states and see how YOU get treated when you apply for work.
You type as if all managers of which many are hicks anyway, will embrace every black dancer. Hell, I know plenty of lighter skinned girls who get turned away at the muthafuckin' door.
Lastly...you really think slavery is over???? Your funny!

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
yes hmmm, when I auditioned to dance at Scores in Las Vegas it was me and 2 black dancers. After we finished, one of the floor guys told the other 2 girls that "they weren't what the club was looking for right now" then I was sent to speak with the manager about my schedule and paperwork. These girls were pretty and had nice bodies IMO.
Also, had a similar situation at Trumps in Detroit, I got hired without a sheriff's card over a black girl with one. She was crying as I got dressed, and I heard another black girl who worked there tell her she was too dark:O so yeah, I would say racism is alive and well in this industry

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
Ok, when I was at an all black women´s university i confronted more than a few attitudinal moments when there was a difference of opinion. So, I am gonna respond to you with respect and politeness as I did then. The point of what I said was to encourage black girls who are sick of hearing they can´t or shouldn´t or whatever. Please just try out wherever and whenever YOU want to and bring your charisma with you. You won´t always get hired, but if you are stunning....you can get it. I´ve worked in Georgia, Maryland, and NYC with that attitude, and it has worked.Just don´t count yourself out before they do. That´s a guarantee you won´t get in.
Maybe I´m just that GORGEOUS....haha, or maybe I am just persi stent, sweet, persuasive, and won´t take no for an answer. Trust me...if Barack Obama can be president...you can be a stripper wherever you want. I figure if my GRANDMOTHER can get her Ph.D. from an Ivy league university in 1970 (true story), I can do something minor, whack, and unimportant like be the biggest earner at the whitest club where the manager is a good ole boy. You definitely can too, and don´t get so bent at me for trying to encourage you and wish good on you! Of COURSE racism exists, but just shove your way in the door. You have no idea how powerful your sexiness is...Old Thomas Jefferson and Jessie Helms were some REAL racists (they wrote BOOKS about it) but even THEY couldn´t deny how beautiful a black women is (sally hemmings...HELLO!) I´m not saying sleep with the racist club manager near you (please DON´T LADIES) but you get the point. Go read "And Still i Rise" and go make your money wherever you goddamnwell please.

Um, I didn't say anything about skin color. I said if you look "exotic", and I didn't say that exotic=light skinned. I know golden brown/ dark girls that look exotic. I think you read into my post a little too hard.

Re: clubs for black dancers....up to date info please
There is some bias in hiring at certain places because they have a black girl quota but there are also several places that will hire a pretty face/nice body girl in a minute. So with that said, it depends on the right time and place. If you have worked in white clubs like I have then you have to have a thick skin so if you don't then don't even think about it.

I'm sorry to tell you that there are many black clubs in DC. After all they do call it "Chocolate City" and dc residents are majority black. I don't work in DC though only because they don't put enough money into the appearance of their clubs. I do agree with most of the girls saying that racism does exist but being 1 of the only 2 black girls in my club definitely work out in my favor. All of a sudden I seem exotic like one of a kind. When I white dude comes in he wants me!! And when a black dude comes in most of the time they want the white girl or the asian!!lol (I guess they're saying they could see a bitch like me on the street but its not everyday they get 2 holla at a Korean girl and vice versa for the white guys. I couldn't care about what the next race or girl is doing as long as I get mine. And if a club don't "want" me NEXT!!! That's their lost cause clubs come a dime a dozen but it's hard to find a bitch that can really HUSTLE!!;D
