I was super new to the forums since I basically came in 15 years into its existence and despite my bad memory I do remember a few things:

- I think the forums were originally run by a member called Bryce. He had left the forums by the time I had come in.
- There was a second guy as well whose name I don't remember (not Bob) but I do remember that there was some major drama concerning him. No idea about the extent. That was before my time.
- The member Stripperweb was becoming inactive in the forums shortly after I joined.
- By the time I joined the forums they were essentially falling apart but they did seem to be maintained to a useable level by what I can only assume was Bob.
- Then there was that whole odd MFC banner thing that I never did ever understand how that came to pass.

Sadly, that is the extend of my memory because as I mentioned I was super late to the party. I am hoping that members who have been around here longer than I have can fill in more of the blanks. I thought that maybe before we lose all our history here we could at least try to track it back to our creation story. :heartbeat

Edited to add: I saw in another thread on the site that it was actually Pryce and not Bryce. Dang, I was so close! Hee hee.

Ive always loved this website as a bible, and always knew I could find the answers to my questions if I just dug a little. Im sad to lose the history this website holds, as SW dont get to occupy many spaces. I want the workers 20 more years down the line to be able to scroll through the forum and get an idea of what workers from the early oughts were doing and to be able to see how the industry has changed.

5 years in? 10 years in?

[b wrote:Dloser[/b];3315079]Pryce started this forum about 2001-2002, with his then girlfriend who was a dancer. He was not looking to get laid out of the site, and ran it very well in the first few years.

Then they broke up and he took a lot less active interest.

Sadly, he ignored one problem that grew out of control and came damned close to destroying the forum entirely about 10-12 years ago.

Shortly after that, he sold the forum to the present owner(s).
