I gave my mom my bottle of Glossier You yesterday, tiktok suckered me into buying it months back and I was underwhelmed with it, it was pretty but very powdery and not really me and I was just using it as an errands running scent. I sprayed it on myself while she was here and she loved it so I just gave it to her, she said she had been looking for a good day time scent too. Her favorite perfume is Shalimar which I can't stand. She usually can't stand my perfume choices either lol.

If you hate the og Shalimar but can manage a soft vanilla musk, get your nose on Shalimar Souffle. It's the one in a navy blue gradient bottle. I consider it a cozy vanilla. Some folks don't believe it has anything to do with the OG Shalimar, but personally I understand where they're coming from. I can pick up the notes for sure.

^^^I googled it, would definitely like to smell it especially because I really want to try a perfume with orange blossom in it because that's one of my favorite smells (orange trees are everywhere in the SW) and I don't think I have any perfumes with it.

Shalimar is one of my mums faves too. I do like it on her and theres something I like about the old fashioned fragrances (the bottles are usually gorgeous too) but it smells overly floral and sickly to me otherwise.

She also used to wear Rive Gauche and Paloma Picasso in the 80s.

Other 80s perfumes I like are Opium and Poison, but I probably wouldn't wear them.

BodyShop Honey Mania, I think this is discontinued but I have kept it in a cool dark place for a long time.

Around 2004ish Guerlain came out with Shalimar Lite and I fell in love with it but it's been discontinued. Or it's been repackaged as another flanker. The Souffle flanker is the closest I've ever gotten to it, but it's still not quite the same. Also I here great things about Shalimar Initial.

Regarding orange blossom, Elie Saab Le Parfum is known for a strong orange blossom top note. Shalimar Souffle is a soft creamy citrus but I believe ESLP to be a true orange blossom fragrance.
